Maximum Odia people depend upon farming and cultivation. If you are one of them, then good news for you. Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has launched a farmer welfare health insurance scheme for you.

If any member of your family is suffering from any serious illness, and you have a smart health card with BSKY available, then you do not have to worry about anything. You can get up to 15 lakhs in any private or Government medical.

This ambitious plan was announced by the Chief Minister on 12 June 2021. In the same year on Independence Day, he allotted BSKY Smart Health Card to the beneficiaries.

Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana 2.0 August 2021

During the flag hoisting of the 75th state-level Independence Day 2021, CM Naveen Patnaik announced the redesign and re-launch of the Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) 2.0 version. Instead of 30 Lakh families, 90 Lakh Families will get the new BSKY health cards.

Now 3.5 crore people of the state will be included in this scheme. With this, now all the medical facilities in 200 big hospitals of the country will be available under this scheme.

Benefits of Biju Swasthya Kalyana Scheme

The Krushi Kalyan Health Insurance scheme is essential for a poor farmer family. Under this scheme, the farmer and his family members (Up to 5 Members) can avail of free health services up to Rs.5 lakh (Rs.10 lakh for women).

The Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana includes the following free treatments and services:

  1. Complete Drugs for Free
  2. Diagnostics
  3. Dialysis
  4. Cancer Chemo Therapy
  5. All OT Treatments
  6. ICU treatments
  7. In Patient Admission

Note: Beneficiaries can avail themselves of all the above treatments at all Government and Private health care institutions.

  5. The Krushak Kalyan scheme will also pay the overall Hospital charges like bed charges, registration charges, etc.

BKKY Yojana Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of the state of Odisha.
  • All families can avail themselves of the Free health services up to the District Head Quarter Hospital level.
  • The Beneficiarie’s name should be on the BKKY Family List.
  • Applicant having Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana cardholders.
  • BPL Card/ Anatodaya Anna Yojana cardholders are also eligible.
  • Families with an annual income below Rs.60000/- in Urban areas and Rs.50000/- in rural areas are eligible.

How to apply Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana Online?

As per the Government notification, there is no process to apply for Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana online. However, the agriculture department has published a beneficiary list. You can check your name by visiting the official website.
If your name is not listed in the BSKY Yojana list, and you are eligible for the BKKY health insurance scheme, you can apply for a new card. For which you have to call the customer care helpline number.

How to get a BSKY Smart Health Card?

Eligible farmer, whose name is in the Krushak Kalyan scheme will get the Smart Card. The Odisha Government issues these smart cards. Now, the Government is not accepting new health insurance Smart card applications. But the existing beneficiaries can visit the Agriculture Department Office and collect the BKSKY Smart card.

What is the maximum allotted amount that will be given to the Beneficiaries?

A Smart Health Card Holder family can get a maximum of Rs.5 Lakh of Health Insurance benefit every year. In the case of a female member, the benefit is Rs.10 Lakh.

How many family members can avail themselves of the insurance benefit?

There is no limit, but a family can avail benefit up to Rs.5 Lakh per annum.
